Ignacio Carmona is a painter based in Barcelona. He studied under Isaac Zylberberg, who was a former student of Esteban Lisa, back in Buenos Aires. Ignacio graduated in traditional drawing and painting from the Barcelona Academy of Art.
He is currently teaching Fine Art in academies and working in his own atelier.
In 1984, the Fundacion Esteban Lisa was established to create an institution dedicated to the aesthetic education of man .
Esteban Lisa along with Torres Garcia are considered pioneers of abstraction in Latin America. Ignacio Carmona along with other Isaac Zylberberg's students are part of the institution.
For Esteban Lisa art was the highest form of human expression. He often told his students “art is not about making things it is about arriving at an internal state that makes it possible to create meaning” he was convinced that the road to creation lay between the emotion and the intellect.
